Get Married at the 38th San Jose Annual PRIDE Celebration
The 38th San Jose Annual PRIDE Celebration is here on August 17 and 18 from noon to 7 p.m. at the San Jose Discovery Meadow Park located at West San Carlos St. and Woz Way in the Guadalupe River Park and Gardens.
With so much to celebrate, this year’s festival theme, “Strength in Diversity” is woven throughout the weekend’s festivities offering variety of food, fun and activities.
San Jose PRIDE President Nathan Svoboda says, “This year’s team has made great strides to reinvent Pride with a new mission and forecasting a vision of community and sustainability.”
Start the fun on “Community Day” at 12:00 p.m. with local talent, vendors, food, and fun.
Families, youth and the community are invited to enjoy culture, amusement, entertainment and giveaways from an array of diverse vendors showcased in our Kaiser Permanente Health & Wellness Pavilion, Youth Hangout, Rainbow Chamber Business Square, and the Community Resource Area. A variety of art, crafts, jewelry and specially exhibitors are also be available. Patrons can join in Zumba, Cross Fit and Circuit Training demonstrations, courtesy of the Health Trust.
Svoboda adds, “We strengthened our partnerships within the public and private sectors in an effort to offer the Silicon Valley LGBTQ community more resources, access and equality. More work is to be done, but our efforts have been successful so far.”

On Sunday start “Danc’n in the Park” at 12:00 p.m. join masters of ceremonies Mahlae and Cezon, as they present artists on The Alaska Airlines Stage, to include a drag queen review, local artists like Xavier Tascano, and headliner performances presented by The Water Garden and Splash Video Dance Bar featuring Headliners Jessica Sutta, former Pussycat Doll, Monique Abbadie from “The Voice” and Miami International Dance Music Sensation Sophi. Also Club Papi Productions presents dancing by Bay Area DJ’s Joseph Z, OlgaT, and St. John from 99.7 [NOW!].
“The Board listened to community feedback and suggestions and although we are limited financially, PRIDE is has partnered with Club Papi, The Watergarden, Splash and Smashwolf Productions to offer a diverse entertainment lineup that we hope everyone will enjoy over the weekend,” tells Svoboda. “I’m excited Kaiser and The Health Trust have returned to support an expanded Health & Wellness Pavilion and PRIDE is thrilled about collaborating with the Youth Space to offer the interactive Youth Hangout.”
Sunday’s tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the gate. A VIP experience is also available for $100 which includes up to three alcoholic drinks, catered lunch and dinner.
